This past weekend, the Mountain Kings split a two game series against the Danbury Hat Tricks for their Hockey Fights Cancer weekend. They sported their brand new pink specialty uniforms and came out of the weekend with a 4-0 loss on Friday and a 4-3 Overtime win on Saturday.
The Mountain Kings partnered with the American Cancer Society for the pink out weekend at Delta Dental Arena in support of their efforts to fight cancer. In addition to having the American Cancer Society in attendance, the Mountain Kings players and staff members hung up placards with the names of loved ones who had been affected by cancer to honor them.
The Mountain Kings came out Friday and stunned the crowd with their stylish pink jerseys, but weren’t able to climb back after a slow start. They were able to redeem the jerseys on Saturday, when they won in overtime to split the weekend series, with a 4-3 win.
Tomislav Brennan’s OT game winner was quickly reviewed by the on-ice officials. This was the second Mountain Kings OT game winning goal reviewed this year, but similar to the first, the call was upheld. Tomislav Brennan’s OT goal earned him the Buffalo Wild Wings third star of the week.
Defenseman and West Point commit Thomas Quast was the second star of the week, with two assists on Saturday. The First Star of the week was none other than Rogie Cacciarelli with a goal and an assist.
Up next, the Mountain Kings take a trip down to Maryland for a big weekend series against the Black Bears. They’ll return home October 24th and 25th to take on the Northeast Generals!
